Belt Guides

Hi Guys,

I have bought a S1 SX2 kit at a great price and started to build.

Now, this may sound daft but I was wondering how you all get the plastic belt guides on the pulleys without marking the plastic rings?

Regards and to Respect to all... Kelvin

I have put them in a mug of kettle boiled water for a couple of minutes if they are really tight, seems to soften them up just enough to go on without much effort. They soon tighten up again when they cool down again.

+1 on the boiling water. Pop them in a cup of hot water for a min and they go on very easy.

Cheers guys... I will remember that when I get my replacement ones... lol

Chipped three of them.

You can also shave inner edge a bit with exacto blade - it helps to fit it easier. Also mentioneed boiling in water is good advice.

Just spoke with the Tech Guys down at the Sch-HQ via the phone.

OMG!!!! They are GREAT! Like really helpful...

I really phoned up to get some replacement rings but whilst on the phone I thought I would speak with them and at the end of the convo they asked where I would like them sent and don't worry as there will be no charge! COOOOOOOoooooooOOOOooooooL!

Great Service and very helpful.

Kelvin, Just out of interest what was there advise? I will try the hot water approach next time. Glad they sorted you out with free parts! Sure the feeback will help them update the manual with tips.

He stated that there is two approaches...

1. Boiling water.

2. His preferred method is to chamfer the leading edge to give it a little start.

Gutted!!!

For some reason Schumacher have sent out a front shock mount for a Couger SV!? Not my needed pulley guides!!!

I have a beautiful SX2 and I can't finish it..! Not going to get to play with it until the new year now... Really Gutted Man!!!

I guess someone isn't that happy that received pulley guides instead of front shocktower :woot:
I belive it was just some mixup, get in touch with them again.

And He Is Back In The Game!

They must of realised that they had made a mistake as I received my pulley guides in the post yesterday. I now have a completed Schumacher SX2!

All I need now is some radio gear and I will be playing with my new toy in no time.
