Would it be possible to do the 3 minute practice heats again after open practice, like you did at the WRI. It helped sort everyone out into a heat of similar ability.

mole2k 13-12-2011 06:18 PM

I think there was a 3min timed practice heat last year at the xmas GP to seed heats based on fastest 3 consec. laps!

Will,
Not sure what to do here.
Do I have to join the RCCAOI or does my BRCA membership cover me at the XMAS GP?

Any advice appreciated! :)
Thanks

h0m3sy 14-12-2011 05:50 PM

I think you would have to join the RCCAOI mate, as that is what I had to do to be able to compete and score points in the Summer National rounds. As the Xmas GP is a National round I would expect it to be the same. I may be wrong, I'm sure Will or someone else from the comittee can tell you more.

Hi,

From my understanding as EX RCCAOI (National) chairman.

The winter championship, is not an official RCCAOI event. So there is no need to be a RCCAOI member.

I'm open to correction, but I think that it is more of an inter-club championships.

MiCk B. :-)

Cardnim 14-12-2011 05:56 PM

Fair point chum - just looked at the RCCAOI website, and it looks like it is just 10 Euro so not too bad.

Im not interested in points at the National as I wont be able to make the other rounds, its just going to be a one off for me; so Im really only interested in making sure Im insured to be there.
Thought I would post it here incase anyone else from up North was thinking the same thing. :)

h0m3sy 14-12-2011 06:04 PM

Hi Mick,

It's just the fact the these races are labeled the winter indoor NATIONAL series which led me to believe that it was in some way connected to the RCCAOI. I suspect this is why Andrew posted the question in the first place.

Ivan, Marshalling could be an issue running cars in possibly 4 consecutive heats not to mention repairs etc. I also think you need to decide whether it's clubman or mod you want to race and stick with it. You have recently proven that you are well able for mod and to keep the clubman class protected I think you should move onwards and upwards.

Mugenextreme 14-12-2011 06:50 PM

Indoor national series is a event organised by the clubs and has no thing to do with National points or standings so it does not require you join the rccaoi.

mole2k 14-12-2011 06:56 PM

It's an indoor national series in that it's national to the island of Ireland, covering both northern and southern clubs so not an official race of either the BRCA or the RCCAOI. It's an inter-club championship designed to promote travelling from the clubs to other venues running the same classes :)

Spot-on. Neither RCCAOI or BRCA affiliated, just William White affiliated

10 euro on the day is all you have to pay. 15 eiro for 2 classes.

h0m3sy 14-12-2011 07:08 PM

Thanks for clearing that up
