lipo swelling

I recently bought 2 sets of vampire 4400 40c lipo saddles. First set is fine but then i went to use the second set and my speedo started beeping. I had noticed slight swelling on one of the cells. Went to balance the cells and it came up with "low voltage". Got these second hand and just wondering what to do. Can i still use them?

Thanks

Sam

were they swollen when you got them, or have only swollen recently?

If they were swollen when you got it then i would go back to the seller. If you have used them a few times and it has just suddenly swollen then there isn't much you can do. I wouldn't recommend still using them.

they were swollen when i got them. i have already spoken to the seller about it.

then he should agree to a refund. NOBODY should sell swollen lipos. Very bad form.

If he is claiming they are damaged in transit then he should make the claim for you, presuming he has proof of postage

Dont use them swelling is the 1st sign of failure

The seller is fine with it, he done me a great deal trying to help me out. the other pack has very little swelling and its only on one of the pair on both sets so could you make 1 good out of both pairs?

Care to give your opinion why?

We have been distributing these in the UK since 2008 they have proved to be one of the most reliable, consistent and best value packs on the market every year since. The fact that out of literally hundreds and hundreds of packs sold we have had less than a very small handful returned in 3+ years just goes to prove that too...

This pack being discussed here is second hand with no idea how they have been used, kept or treated prior to the new owner recieving them. Also worth baring in mind that they have not even been sold from new for over 12 months now too (the 4400 40c spec).

Been using Vampire Lipo's for over 2 years now, never had a problem with them.

As with most items of this nature, if you don't look after them correctly then you can't expect them to last!

Which most likely judging by their appearance come from the self same supplier as Vampire do , but to be fair there are only 2 or 3 major suppliers making them for 90% of all the brands out there today. Just because one company puts one sticker on and another a different one, makes no odds, they are all still the same inside.....

SamRCRacing 12-12-2011 10:48 PM

What lipos do you recomend?

dont get me wrong darren vampire products in my view are very good except the lipos i can name at least 5 drivers who have bought these and within a month or so they are showing sign of swelling ive also had some in the past, no reason for it as they were charged corretly and all the rest of it.
i will never buy a vamprire lipo again sorry this is my opinon.

i have also used track power,ip,demon, turnigy and never had swelling issues and unfortuantly due to my experience with these lipos i would not recomend them to anybody

diff grease on the other hand and dms service second to none.

To be honest, ALL of the TOP brand packs are as good as each other - LRP/Nosram, SMC, Vampire, Orion, Reedy, etc etc, there really is very little to choose between them all (as results always go to show). However as Liam (Gonky) rightly said it is all about how they are treated and looked after that really counts...

TARTMAN 12-12-2011 11:00 PM

what guidlines would you say, ie balance/fast/charge/storage etc as a guide for lipos............... In your opinion........... Curious.......:eh?:
