2028 where will rc car racing be ?

will computer games be so advanced that there wont be any point or will we all be driving hydrogen fuell cell driven hydrolic 4wd buggys with adaptive suspension ?

will there be direct link to your brain tx units ala ghost in the shell

Well if the post about the speed passion wireless power is correct we could be using silly powered motors and not worrying about cells, or we will be on 10,000mah cells of lithium or even another non metal.

Danny McGee 03-03-2008 08:42 PM

I think the RC cars of the future will hover!

That would be interesting! touring cars would be even less fun. :p

Lindsay 03-03-2008 09:24 PM

If i am still marshalling and refering for you guys I will need a hovercraft wheel chair.

Being honest .......
iv,e recently got back into having a real hobby here after spending way too much of my time playing online computer games.

There is nowt better than getting out there and competing against real people in the real world
...even with a df-03

With climate change, we'll either be racing in scorching sun in a UK desert (Woohoo) or under sea level. (and land value could become so high that its paid for per square mm)

Computer games are great, they just absorb so much time that we (I) forget to do real things we (I) should really be doing.... like eating.... so I hope they don't develop to be honest... LOL.

As for technology, we'll have frictionless bearings, ultra efficient running requiring 2mah (and therefore very lightweight) to run for 18days at a time..

Suspension will be via magnets, and reffing decisions will have video replay allowed.

Climate Change? What a load of crap lol. As much as I like the sound of a dessert in the UK and hot rc racing weather, the most likely scenario is the UK freezing over in an ice age. But it's all a load of tosh anyway, and nothing much will happen.

As for RC, it won't change too dramatically in the near future. Lithium cell technology will mean wireless power might not take off too quickly. Proper regenerative braking will be the next big thing for electric I predict.

Tom3012 03-03-2008 11:52 PM

hovercrafts already exist so i guess it'll still be 4 wheels. if the UK where to freeze over then it would be awesome for racing, we would need either snow chains or a new class, 1/10th skidoooooooooo racing

heck, im gona make one!!!!!!

Southwell 04-03-2008 09:41 AM

When IB 120000's explode they will take half a county out.

jimmy 04-03-2008 10:19 AM

Every track will have its own 3D printer connected to all the manufacturers so you can print out any spares you need.

8th electric offroad will be a big class outdoors, 10th will be big indoors. Maybe we might have some manufacturing come back to the UK from the far east? We will have a few more British World Champions along the way to 2028, Blyth outdoor venue will still be around. Qualifying will still be 5 min but finals 10-20minutes.

For those interested in this type of thing, heres some facts from this monthe farmbusiness Magazine theres an article on whats forecast to happen over the next 40 years:
World population forecast by 2028 - 7.5 Billion : current 6 Billion
China & India will have 45% of the worlds population : UK = 1.5%
10% of the world will still be starving, currently 20%
By 2028 UK government plans to build 4million new homes
Climate change will cause greater pressure on water, land, food, fuel as a consequence more reliance will fall on fewer countries for food & fuel.
Food will be more volatile in price.
Urban dwellers will hold street protests about allsorts of things in major cities weekly.
Currently there is enough food in the world for every person each day to have: 1kg of grain, 500g of meat, 500g eggs, 500g dairy, 500g fruit, 500g veg, distribution of food is currently the problem.
Sorry if i bored you ;-p
