Whens best to buy new years batteries?

Hi all,

Have been trying to decide when to buy 2008 legal batteries (my old batteries are all pretty shot so will be changing at some point), wondering whether the best option is to:

1. Buy them now and leave them on a shelf until I start to use them in mid April?

2. Buy them now and have them built immediately and get on with using them? But will this mean they're already losing punch etc when the regionals/nationals come around!?

3. Leave it until the last minute to buy, hoping they're in stock at the time I want to get them! If I do this though, will they have been sat in a shops stock room since now anyway!?

Lif is so confusing.......:eh?:

Get them now and start using them, they won't loose punch by the first national/regional
