Maintaining brushless motors?

whats the best way to clean and maintain brushless motors?

Thanks

Craig.

keep them clean, dust and water, usual stuff you would with a brushless, just not skimming.

what about motor sprays & bearing oil?

Well, I would of thought the motor would be able to be dismantled, so if you think it is dirty, then pull it apart and clean, I would of though it would be safe for use wire motor cleaner. And you would oil an axle bearing, right? Then you must lightly oil the shaft bearings on your brushless to.

I have heard that from time to time it is good to replace the bearings, as you may do with a mod motor. ;)

can anyone recomend some bearing oil and motor spray cleaner & where I could get some?

Thanks

I use Royal Oil I think or maybe it’s something jelly, can't remember now, made by Trinity comes in a handy bottle with really long 'pin' which helps to get to bearings in really awkward places.

Regarding cleaning of brushless motors, I’m pretty sure you should never use motor cleaner! Buy a can of 'air duster' meant for cleaning PC keyboards and give it a good spray now and then.

Air duster can blow dust into the bearings Dave.
