Castle Creations SCT combo. A bad experience.
 

Bought one for my SC10 from Modelsport. It did one race meet then on the second meet started cogging really badly.

I sent it back nearly a month ago (3rd November) but they're waiting for stock from the States and have ignored my request for a refund.

So, whilst it was great when it worked, if things go wrong, you can expect a ridiculously long wait and many missed race meets whilst they take an inordinate length of time to do whatever it is they're doing. I don't even have a delivery date, just a vague non committal idea of two weeks and that was two weeks ago.

Modelsport were good at first but then strangely as soon as I asked for a refund, they went quiet for a while.

I'm out of pocket for postage and wasting club membership fees because I can't race.

Only option is to buy another combo, but funds are allocated to other things at this time of the year.

Modelsport has had their up and downs for me too; ordered a certain SC body ; which was not in stock, they proposed another, had to pay another £5 extra. Send them through paypal; they tell me that I send it to the wrong paypal address. So I send it to the address they gave. When I go to claim to faulty transfer, they deny the claim. So instead of 5, I send £10. I know we're not talking about a fortune here; but it has stopped me from ordering from them in the future; too bad, because they carry quite a bit of products I'm interested in. Oh well.

regarding the SCT combo from Castle; I think you might have a faulty unit, not something I think will be trend for this model as on US forums the SCT combo receives a lot of praise and is used in a lot of SC10 and other SC trucks
