Akula Racing 210 Front Shock Mount Problem..?
 

Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone has had any issues with the Akula Carbon Front Shock mount..? :confused:

The turnbuckle is rubbing on the mount as it travels up and down..? tryed to shim it out, but theres too much of an angle..?

I have probably done somethng wrong..?:confused::lol::bored:

Any ideas would be great..:thumbsup:

Ball joints in the end of the shocks are the wrong way round. The ball part goes towards the rear of the wishbone.

Have you shimmed both ball-ends? The one on the tower and the one on the c-hub.

shocks dont affect turn buckles rubbing on towers?

trim a bit of the shocktower
thats how i have done it.
2min work with a dremel =)

Hi Guys,

The Ballstud is the correct possition, and if i was to shim both side i would need to shim 3mm minimum.. probably more..:confused:

Has anyone got any pictures off these fitted..?

You do need to shim both sides.

They do in this case because the balls that sit in the shock ends are offset to allow the shock to overcome the turnbuckle.

does having the balls/cups on the front change the geometry (obviously) that it requires different setup? Just wondering

If you shim more than 2mm on the castor you will need a slightly longer ball stud thread or they will undo during the race, had this problem a few times, in the end i used a super strong threadlock as i haven't got round to getting a longer ball stud

Well re read his post his turnbuckle is hitting the tower, not the shock. So as I said shocks are nothing to do with it......
