B4 servo saver
 

I noticed last night that when I apply full lock and apply a relatively small amount of pressure I can straighten my wheels without the servo moving. I have read various things about the servo saver on the B4 lacking grunt but this is ridiculous. Also, it seemed easier to move under full Left lock than full Right lock.

What has everyone else done about this? I've found this http://www.apexmodels.com/gbu0-prodshow/AS9657.html. But is it going to be any better than the original spring? Would rebuilding the steering set/ servo saver do any good?

I have noticed my wheels twitching (if you know what I mean) when cornering so i'm sure this must be effecting the handling. Cheers

Most people glue it up, including myself.

Yep glue it up solid.

However, Ive broken a few servo savers since glueing them and now use a fixed alluminium unit which is far better... made by GPM.

On eBay I believe guys if you want one!

Maybe JE spares do them also or DMS
You only need to fit the servo saver bit the others arnt needed really and just make your steering sloppy

I'm also after one of these now (none on eBay as far as I can see). Can't see anywhere in the UK that sells them from the searches I've done. Does anyone know anywhere that does stock them?

Never had any problems with my saver. Its even too strong for me so i`ve fitted the standard spring. Heavy duty spring kept breaking my servos

I run the avid bullited servo arms,its just one piece of metal no servo saver but I had to have it shipped from america,also u run the risk of breaking ur servo with one ov these.

I've had the same problem recently on my C4.1... I dont think its anything to do with the cars built in servo saver or spring as its only really on full lock. The problem is that the servo arm isn't long enough to put sufficient pressure on the steering when on full lock (in particular when turning left).

I just changed the servo arm for a longer one (I used a fastrax one) which has cured the problem... so much more sterring, definitely getting full lock and the inside wheels doesn't 'twitch' when going round a corner on full lock.

It allows you to keep the standard spring in the servo saver so that you're not damaging your servo. Looks pimp too :thumbsup:
