A Team Associates B44 today and I am impressed!

I was almost set on a SX3 but it would seem that most recommended the B44.
As a result I am torn between the two now...

Help me out guys... Please! :)

its a fairly new car handles great has a great availability of spares not that you'll need many, very strong car,

Not sure how you are working out your maths on the B44 there to be honest....

$259.99 at todays rate with the banks (1.5124 - I can verify this since we have just had a £4000+ order processed today by one of our US suppliers put on our company debit card) works out to approx £171.91.

Your shipping price is then "at least" another £22 taking you to a minimum of £193.91. As soon as this hits customs, you will get VAT added (20%) taking you to £232.69 and then dear old Parcelforce will slap on a charge of between £8 and £13 to "handle" your parcel leaving it costing you £240.69 minimum (I have used the lowest costs in all these calculations - using the higher maounts this could cost as much as £255)

We have them "in stock" here at DMS at present, available for next day delivery or collection at just £239.95, with no 10 day (minimum) wait for shipping. I make it no differance between the UK and USA in price and if collected it is actually marginally cheaper here in the UK..........

Darren is spot on, and customs will only hit you for 20% VAT if your lucky, generally on larger boxes e.t.c you can add import duty on that too, and then they slap 20% on top of the duty.

Plus its coming from Amain hobbies who declare everything properly making it easier for Uk customs to charge you the max on it all.

Plus it's money into the UK economy

Currently living in Stevenage with intentions of racing at both herts nitro (with electric 10th scale of course) and stortford.

Nice price but I've been stung before with duty and all the rest when buying jet ski parts from the US. Some get away with it but I don't seem to have much luck in that area. Besides, for me, I would like to build up a relationship with my local model shop and to kick that off, I intend to buy my kit from them. Once the relationship is established, people tend to help you out when needed. They will never rip you off as they want you to come back and buy spares, upgrades and everything else you will need to run your car. Keep it in the country and supporting local businesses that will support you. We need more of that in this country me thinks...

I supported my local shop with lots of £££ only to hear of a close friend left outside in the cold because they couldnt be arsed to open the shop at 9:50 when he had over £100 to spend,

since then they have lost two customers and I buy elsewhere. :lol:

I didn't say that all businesses are worth supporting... :)
Lets face it though, up until the point of disappointment, I'm sure you were happy and had a good relationship with the guy..?
