Buying decent 7 cell matched packs

Hi all. Just wondering where in the UK i can buy matched 7 cell (8.4V) NiMH packs of good quality such as Intellect, GP or EP. Not worried about BRCA compatibility. In fact if you can get them cheaper as they aren't on the new list then all the better, as lofng as they will fit in a Traxxas E-Maxx.

Or am I likely to be having to build them myself? In which case what can I do about matching? Most matching machines I've seen seem to be a lot more than I want to spend (£200+) for something that is going to get very little use. Is there another, reliable way to do it? And again where's best to buy single cells if I have to go this route?

Thanks in advance.

Out of interest...why are you after matched cells for what comes across as a basher?

Just curious

I know it's not required but it does improve runtime and life of the battery. Not essential and I would survive without matched cells but it would be nice and for the GPs I found a while ago matched was only really slightly more than unmatched and if you're spending that much already it seems makes sense to spend the little extra.

From what I remember there was two types of matched packs as well, at quite different prices. Think it was team matched at only slightly more then factory matched a ta much higher price. If the price difference is too great will probably just settle for unmatched...

Try asking the matchers directly, they may well be able to supply 7 cells, Demon and Almighty spring to mind,

Cheers mate. I came across the TA site last week sometime. If you click on their battery page they offer 4,5 or 6 cells matched but they have no prices listed for reference (and I know that I want 7 so wont be 100% accurate anyway) and i click on the link to the shop page and get this message.

Thanks for all the help everybody. I'm just gathering info at the moment but I will definitely chuck an email at both the companies mentioned when I'm ready to buy some decent batteries.

Don't forget Stormforce Racing (Neil Oliver on here) ...... he's a top bloke to deal with and offers very good value for money!

All the packs I've ever bought new have just come as 6 matched but loose cells. Should be no problem for any decent retailer to stick another cell in.

p.s. why do you need 7 cells?

Website says coming soon but it's going to be a little while before I order (probably pretty close on a month.)

Col:
I'm wanting 7 cells as I'm getting a new E-Maxx, which is designed to work with the higher voltage. I know it's not required but thought it worth at least looking into. I'll probably go for high quality but unmatched packs but I'll get a quote for both off everybody who's been mentioned before I do. I may only be a basher hobbyist but I don't like to skimp on quality (to an extent anyway.)

Do people really rate the Yuntong cells? From what I've heard they're still a bit of an unknown quality...
