Mardaves

Who would be interested in running these at COBRA and would we want a basic rule, i.e. motor?

Teaboy 20-11-2011 07:54 PM

i am, strangely enough i was speaking to Chris Hardisty about it at the 12ths yeasterday. I am sorting a car tomorrow so the sooner the better. Also Chris said as soon as it gets going he will come and race with us.

Why start another fad when we aint even got a PROPER buggy track in wales that runs on a weekend!!(no offence to clubs but im referring to full size buggy tracks that can easily pull 50 drivers on a sunday)

Find me the 50 drivers who would attend regular, and we will look into it Dave....

YAWN!

Could be a very good idea Steve, taking into account the size of the new hall we're in they could be perfect.

We've done a fair bit for the buggy side of the club lately (with the new jumps and outside surface) and this may increase the turnout for the onroad side - I wouldn't trust me with a TC in Marshfield (too expensive to fix when I do break it!) but I'd give Mardave a go.

As for rules, what do other clubs that run them do? Aren't they retro style silver can motors?

i got a mardave cobra 90% ready to run sso would liv to join in mate lol.................i no ur on about 12th but would u run additive(however u spell it lol) if so can the buggys run it if they run foams aswell? There is official BRCA rules, but we don't like a strict format, I think the cars limit themselves mostly... additives, J, yeap you can matey!

47 cars on track at caldi on fri...Not all at same time;) plus a few did 2 classes. but still 47 paying.oh plus a fair few didnt turn up or were at the mk gp. Almost 60 at caldi wrca last year and as im informed by a tru racing legend that lots of top drivers would travel to a good track.
It really would be superb not to have to drive 3 and a half hours just to get a full day on a proper buggy track:thumbsup:

I'm up for some Mardave mini stock mayhem!

sunbeam 07-01-2012 06:54 PM

Sorry Steve, I know I've not raced at Cobra for years, but reading this thread makes my down stairs tingle

I LOVE Mardave mini stocks, I started a club for them in Pembrokeshire about 13 years ago. It went very well for about 6 months. We raced in a chirch hall on a carpet oval, FANTASTIC FUN, and cheap :thumbsup:

I think over the years (since 1988) I've managed to about 30 Mini Stocks to people just by showing them mine and starting the club.

I'm in 300% !!!!!!!!!!! And Alisha will be to !!!!!!!

Rob.

Our two cars are now running :)

Can't get to Cobra this Sunday, so see you with the Mardaves the week after.

Rob and Alisha.
