I have the ESC and motor and would highly reccomend them.

raced them all year now and must say there super smooth and very!! powerfull
gear your motor pinion 1 tooth smaller and lower the drive freq to 8000 for clay and 5000 for carpet

we race the vtx10 2wd so no need to buy the r version you can easely put on 5.5,s on it jus remeber to down gear 1 tooth

I've been running the vtx10 with a D3 7turn all summer in my 2wd and would definitely recommend it, loads of power, massively fast and very driveable - plus its nice and small! You can buy it with the pro gauge which is easy to use (you dont need it to change the settings, but this also can be used as a lipo tester and servo adjuster).
