EZ run problem

I'm running an ezrun combo in my lazer. 60a/5.5t with stock spur and 24t pinion. Its getting hot and cutting out very quickly. Maybe 2 mins if that.
Is the 5.5t motor too much for the ESC on a buggy?
I'm using a 2s 4000mah 25c rocket pack.

I think that 5.5 is too much for any 60A esc, especially a sensorless one. Also the gearing is way high. I'm always being challenged for my gearing being high and I run a 21 pinion for a 5.5 sensored (120A V2.1 ESC) & 23 pinion for a 6.5 in my Lazer.

Try gearing it down to around a 20 pinion and see how it goes but I'd be looking at getting a less aggressive motor too

I've ordered an 18t pinion to try that,i really want the loony-ness of 5.5t,so i guess i'm gonna have to invest in a 120a ESC.
Thanks for the reply :)

I had same problem - it was a blown capacitor. Got a new one from Racersinexile and it's been fine since.

Run mine on a 23/80 with a 2.6 gearbox ratio in a madrat. Normally temps about 45c on motor and 35c on esc after 7 mins
