that looks great! got any videos of it? Rally rc is my favourite, the best bits of offroad and onroad :)

Very nice project! I have a DF-03RA (dedicated Tamiya rally car). I have problems with dogbones if I lift ground clearance. How are your driveshafts (dogbones) performing at such an angle??? :)

BeachBuggyPhil 09-11-2011 07:08 PM

I should do that with mine!!
What wheel & tyres are you using?

simon 09-11-2011 10:12 PM

Hi,
The are-2 is a great car to convert as it has metal diffs so is very strong..the car has Uj's which are telescopic so no probs with dog bones falling out..have around 30mm of ground clearance..the wheels and tyres are fast track, ready built £10!!.........its a shame theres not any racing for this class here in the UK......

I just had a look for some and can't find anything that aggressive.
Do you have a part number or link?
Cheers

qatmix 15-11-2011 08:59 PM

BeachBuggyPhil 16-11-2011 04:47 PM

http://www.modelsport.co.uk/fastrax-...roducts/365690

This is for that cheap Ansmann Si.
Silver can motor, stock ESC, £30 car, £10 wheel/tyres and a good Lipo equals hours of fun.

j_erbe 16-11-2011 05:14 PM

what motor and esc u running? i got a standard are-2 n cant get that ground clearance how did u manage it?

BeachBuggyPhil 16-11-2011 09:34 PM

Looks like different ends on the shocks and maybe removed the droop screw tab bits as well.

alex97 22-11-2011 09:22 PM

I'm following suit seeing as its not really suitable for anything serious.

Keeping it slow for a seven year old to play with and learn.

Need to find a nice body now.

BeachBuggyPhil 27-12-2011 09:34 PM

Well, it drives pretty good, not the fastest and could do with being a little higher but was fun until either something got stuck in the motor or the pinion & spur.
There is no cover for the pinion and spur so anything can get in there and I was using a stock brushed Tamiya motor so something could have got in the motor and jammed that up.
With a better body (and motor) it's a cheap fun car but don't expect anything more.

Heres mine at the moment..great fun,and a great car to convert!
