Here's my Core short course after its first outing with a 9t ezrun combo and turnigy 2s lipo (5000mah 30c)......the shell is so brittle are all Ansmann shells the same?

I also snapped the front chassis brace which is a common weakness I believe........you got to laugh :woot:

Now I got to shell out (excuse the pun) £30 quid for new body, probably go for JConcepts Manta

Ouch! My sct shell is held together with duck tape at the moment! Mine ain't as bad as your shell :-o

I'm affriad that most if not all pre painted shells do seem a little brittle! The clear shells seem fine though ;)

No, they are made from P.E.P. I think, which although has the appearance of lexan, it isn't, and is very brittle, all the pre-painted Ansmann shells are the same. Not to sure on the clear ones though.

Careful which shell you buy, as this is a smaller truck to the SC10.

Oh I thought the core was pretty standard SCT size and the other ansmann sct were smaller?

Your correct the core is the same size as other sct's

Ansmann do to 2 sct type trucks, and as you point out one is smaller as it uses the rat arms where as the core uses macnum arms and a larger rat shaped chassis.

I did my homework before I bought my core ;)

OMG! I use same batts and never done that to my slash 4x4 - and I bash hard - this is about as bad as I've done a shell:

Proline Desert Rat (very strong but cracked along sharp edges)

To this:

And the Proline Flo-Tek (which I very strongly recommend - higher wheel arches, beautiful design, smooth corners, easy to spray, surprisingly strong for a Proline SCT shell)

From this:

Survived an attack by three dogs and a great go at the track at the weekend and still no cracks:

The manta is probably the strongest shell I've had but did develop the dreaded rear wing pod cracks after the first bash - but is still holding up strong - wheels rub a lot on the slash (and others, ive read) though due to low wings

My favourite is the Proline Flo Tek to date
