Lipo Checker
Hello all,
Is there a device I could buy, to check the voltage of my lipo's? I'm just a bit tired of setting the charger up, just to see that the voltage hasn't dropped much. I have saddle packs. Would it be possible to check the balance of them too? Cheers, Chris |
A multimeter. To check the balance just put the test leads into the balance connector.

i hope i havnt understood the question,
but as i understand the question, here is my answer............... i used to use one of these to check voltage of cells http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Li-Po-Batt...item45fd93aa1e now i use one of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Li-Po-Guar...a#ht_766wt_964 you will just need to put your charge leads into the battery then plug the balance lead into the checker, it will tell you the voltage of each cell and the voltage of both cells together. |
I'll show you mine Chris next time we're racing again.
It shows the total voltage. the individual voltages of each cell. the variance between the cells and a rough percentage of the capacity left in the pack. |

Thanks for the replies all. I am aware of a multimeter, but I figured there must be a little plug in device that would be more specific to our cells.
G, I'll come and have a look at yours tomorrow mate. Thanks. Quote:

Etronix Battery doctor (with the right lead) will probably do what you are looking for.

Lipo's can be stored for months as long as theres a reasonable charge in there, we have left them with just what was in them after a race for 5-6 weeks without checking them just make sure that the wires from car to battery are unplugged, they don't seem to self discharge like nicads or nimh did.
