Update for the 30th - Racing is ON

Status

Ok, so I visited the Youth Centre last night and couldn't get in, it looks like they have disabled the electronic lock so the fob won't open the door. Therefore I was unable to see the state of the work, but it doesn't matter what our opinion is, unless they consider the work finished and reset the lock we will not be able to get in.

Peter has said he will go up there this morning and check on progress, a report will follow.

To be honest it's looking very likely that the 20th will be the first Sunday back since

6th Worksop
13th Aces Winternational

It has been agreed that all club racing will be free between now and Christmas as a thank you to members for their patience.

Racing is ON this Sunday 30th October 6-10pm. - FREE RACING

OK,
Peter has been to Seaham and also spoken to the Building Services manager at the council and we have the OK.

RACING is ON

The hall is clear and clean, but the other rooms have not been cleaned, so there is a fair amount of dust (so be warned). It may be best to pit at the end of the hall and not the usual room, but we can make the decision on the night.

As mentioned above the committee has agreed that all club racing will be FREE between now and Christmas, as a thank you for the patience of our membership.

See you there

Bad move about being free...why not still charge and buy some new tape with the cash? I'm happy to donate unless the club doesn't need the money?

Ian is going out tomorrow to get some tape for Sunday, I'll
make a trip up to the cash and carry next week and get a couple of boxes of tape ready for after Worksop and the aces just to keep you smiley :)

As for racing fees if you wish to make a voluntary contribution your more than welcome, we are also hoping the free racing may entice some new racers to turn up.

240v yes but might be an idea to bring an extension lead and no to the rest so will be an idea to bring your own food and drink and pit table if you have one............

As dexter says there is 240v but you will probably need an extension, tables there's the odd one knocking around up there if your stuck but it is advisable to bring your own. Food and drinks there's a couple of shops nearby and a few people occasionally order pizza for delivery.

Paying to race is the cheapest thing about our hobby!! We all want to race so we all accept we have to pay.....it's not the clubs fault we haven't raced!! Good that the club thinks that it should repay the members or racers but I think that the money could go towards printer ink or tape or whatever!!

What time race normally start ?

Sumilidon 30-10-2011 08:50 AM

I won't be there this week just because of the possible dust which will cause me problems.

I'll certainly be along for the next however

Good to be back.

A good nights racing, really enjoyed it. Good turn-out considering it was the first week back after such a long layoff.

Hall was good, new lighting which is much better than the old yellow glow. Rest of the centre was a bit of a bomb site, but it all worked out.

Best bit of the night was Natalie beating Pack and relegating the "Buggy Champ" to the B Final :p

Next meeting will be the 20th November, see you then.

chrispattinson 31-10-2011 10:08 AM

Yeah, well done Nat.... you were pushing hard in the final aswell.

Good night racing.

racdeaf 31-10-2011 11:12 AM

What time you guys finish last nite ?

As i was suppose to come with my boy but concern with time finish late due my son go to school next morning

cmgreen 31-10-2011 12:15 PM

In The car and away 10.05pm.

Really gud nite, with another 10 people we may be pushed for 4 heats and final.

Dalla 31-10-2011 12:16 PM

Hi Rob,

Most people got away before 10pm, but anyone who has a youngster with them could leave early (9.30pm?) without helping to put the track away and nobody would be upset.

If 9.30pm is still too late, then there would always be the option to leave before the finals and the same would apply.

This problem has always been the downside of the evening racing times, but unfortunately the 6-10pm suits more of the lads with family commitments and turnout is better.

great thank fella
