Ramp designs for indoor track

Does anyone know where I can find some ramp designs for an indoor track. I want to build a table top and a double ramp but not sure on the profile needed for the best angle etc!

Can anyone help???

PM Gingerfixit (Andy Bell) as he has some formulas from motocross experience and the jumps he (and his colegues) built for the Newbury events are just about perfect.

Be careful of over packing features into an indoor track as you will soon run out of safe space for marshals etc ..... lol

hi

jump building is dead easy three main rules

1 to gain hight the jump needs to wider front to back than it is higher

2 the depth of kick or bend in the jump is directly proportional to way the car jumps to much the car will get hieght and distance but will all happen to quickly so in a way less is more in the way of control

3 allways make a down ramp twice as big as you think you might need trust me on that 1

if you build a jump 1 foot high and 1.5feet wide front to back you will get between 4 and 5 feet in the air with the car at a walking pace with kick or bend of around 3 inches deep.

there is a formula to work out the jumps but its very complicated but is ment to give you in theory the place the landing ramp will need to be the trouble is this this is for mx bikes that fly very well have masive suspention on the bike and a man that moves to help the bike travel through the air.

the first table top we built was 6 feet to short on the top deck and some 8 feet short on the down ramp.

have to go to work now i will try and get some picks up to help you this evening just remember be carfull how big the jumps are people will try to ramp them and land out side rather that do the ramp well.

any be back later Andy Bell

Here are 2 utube links to the Newbury circuit, remember that the drivers like to jump and look out for the crossovers.

Those cross overs look cool! But what would you do if little Johny turned up with his Tamiya Hornet? Then you'd have a problem!! :woot::woot::woot::woot::woot:
