C rating on Lipos

Hi

Can anyone explain what is the C rating on Lipo packs? As in Do not charge above 10C? I recently returned to the hobby after a little 20 year break. I understand Amps volts watts etc and presume C is a discharge rating but can someone just let my know what it is.

Thanks

Alex

You shouldn't usually charge above 1C unless advised otherwise by the battery manufacturer.

C = Capacity (in amps)

So...
for a 5000mAh Lipo - 1C = 5 amps
for a 6800mAh Lipo - 1C = 6.8 amps
etc.

so if your battery says "Do not charge above 10C" and it is a 5400, then you should not charge it about 54 amps.
(which I would never do anyways as this sounds bonkers)

I always charge at 1C regardless.

oh, and the good thing is about 1C that charging should always take about 1 hour.

when talking about charging never charge above 1c as stated above 5400 = 5,4amps charge

but c rating of Lipo's is usually there discharge rate IE 5400 30c means it will discharge under load in the car at 162amps in theory lol
