a few questions for blast users

what shims are you using and from where

and does anyone do a screw and bearing kit and if so who

thanks

Cr3Ad 17-10-2011 04:41 AM

it already come with bearings unless your after some top ceramic ones then i think some 1 will be able to supply a bearing kit, as for screws its a case of just removing and replacing with similar all though you could try look for a kit for the kyosho zx-5 as its pritty much the same car.
and ive no idea about the shims i saw a post on here that some body had shimmed some bits but never went into detail so i left mine standard

whizzy 17-10-2011 07:42 AM

does it hold up ok to a brushless system without shimming it

whizzy 17-10-2011 10:30 AM

and if anyone can give me the size needed that would be great

Cr3Ad 18-10-2011 05:04 PM

it held up great to brushless no problems, i had more problems with a hobbywing esc overheating all the time in it

y i left mine standard and theyve been fine, i will do them sometime ive hear 10,000 in the front and 7,000 in the back works quite well so thats were im gonna start

whizzy 18-10-2011 06:40 PM

thats what i was told aswell and thats what ive got coming as well as the back cvds and aluminium wheel hex

Cr3Ad 18-10-2011 08:04 PM

ive not sent for the backs yet but not had a ball joint pop off suprising there quite tight on the car so just running rear dog bones still as for the aluminium wheel hex +1 a definate buy plus there suprisingly cheap for lrp also the fasttrax wheels fit very well but will break from the hex fitting after 2 meets i know mine did there very thin. i got caster sk10 wheels but some modification required to fit, losi rear wheels fit but not tried fronts.
im not keen on spoke wheels so been doing a little hunting round for dished wheels

whizzy 19-10-2011 05:35 AM

ansmann wheels will fit too as there 12mm too

Cr3Ad 19-10-2011 06:01 PM

its not just the 12mm hex thats tells if they fit or not there like real car wheels there an offset to make sure your hub doesnt catch the wheels. the caster ones i had to cut away some of the inside fins in the wheel so it didnt catch the hub and the front need the inside lip taking down alot so it didnt catch the steering arm end
