Help charging LiPO battery with Ansmann Xbase 2.0
 

I've got the Ansmann Xbase 2.0 charging unit, but I'm not 100% sure how I work out when my battery is charged. The battery is a 3300mAH unit, and the packaging says I can charge at a rate of 2C (it's a Vapex battery), which I believe is a rate of 6.6A - that seems high to me, what do you reckon?

Also, with the Ansmann charger, do I charge until the display shows my battery is at the Max Charging voltage (8.5V according to my battery info), and then wait for the capacity figure on the display to reach 3300?

I would recommend charging at 1c so 3.3 amps. With regards to charging just wait until it starts beeping at you. Charger should be set to charge 2 cell lipos. You will know when you are nearing the end of the charge as the amps will start dropping on the display. You don't need to do anything it will stop itself :-)

When the Lipo reaches capacity, the charge current will slow down

Even better with the Ansmann charger, it says "Full" when it's finished :)

Always helpful - I had an Xbase 1 and it always took ages to get to that point - it would charge at 1C, drop quickly and then hold it at 0.1A for about 30 mins.

Yeah I had one of those, it did take a ridiculously long time to finsh charging. My X-base 2.0 is much better :thumbsup:

does it have a balancer built in also?

yeah it does mate. Also comes with software and a usb link for firmware and datalogging. And can be run both on mains and 12 volt.:-)
