How much to ask for 511 spares?

I just managed to secure myself a TRF511 on ebay!!
Can't believe I got it so cheap, as no-one else bid on it.:o

Problem is, I'm gonna have to sell most of the NIP spares that are coming with it so I can afford a saddle-pack or 2 for it.

How much, as a general rule, are people prepared to pay for NIP spares as a percentage of RRP? I know people don't like for-sale posts with 'make me an offer'.

Just wanna work out how much to ask for things like:

54140 drive belt
51290 king pins
51271 B Parts
51275 Front arms
54027 slipper pads
53988 Ball Diff Pulley (37t)
51287 Diff plates
51314 91t spur
53989 centre pulley
49300 thust bearings
53969 hard hex ball studs
54133 new clear body and undertray
51286 Diff Joint
53974 Front spring set
53975 Rear spring set
3 racing front tower
Lazy ceramic diff ball replacements

Also, if anyone wants to make an offer on any of the above, let me know. (might not sell it all, just wanna work out prices for now)

thanks.

You only need one Lipo, I would keep that majority of spares you have got as you'll end up replacing them.

Lipo's - I use SMC 5200 MAH 60c's in my 511. Awesome - just make sure you glue the tyres on well!!

I would agree with Matt. Looking at that list of spares they are just the sort of thing that you will need over the course of a season and will wish you had kept them.

Thanks mate,

I also run a 511, and yes you will use them all.

Thing is, I have quite a lot of those bits anyway from having a DB01 (drivetrain parts, etc) and I really need some money!! Also, unless I crash LOADS, i doubt I'll need the 4 sets of front wishbones.

out of intrest what did u end up getting the 511 for

1 lipo makes for a manic night of club racing. I'd never be able to run a single pack at our club with only getting 20 minutes of charge back into it between races. I'm taking out around 2300mah so unless you get a 6000mah pack you'll need more than 1.

I have 4 so I can relax while doing my racing having to only recharge the pack I used to practice :)

of course it's down to how much you wanna spend :)

mattybucks 14-10-2011 01:09 PM

Hi mate,

PM sent.

Where are you planning on racing it? Have you been to my place yet?

dobber 14-10-2011 01:48 PM

Hmm £250 for the 511 and all those spares i'd say you had a good deal :)

footey 14-10-2011 01:57 PM

ouch if thats what he got it for that is a good deal and ashame i didnt see it as i would have bid

mattybucks 14-10-2011 02:23 PM

Is it a full spec one? Blue turnbuckles, hubs, steering bridge, fred's diff covers?

F1END 14-10-2011 05:55 PM

Yes, as some clever spy spotted, I got it for £250 including Fredrick's diff covers, brass lipo holder, HL dampers, all blue blingy bits...plus all those NIP spares.

I was shocked no-one else bid tbh... it was on 'buy it now' for £400, which to be fair, is still probably a good price for all that lot, but £250 was a steal. I almost feel guilty.

I should have explained a bit better in my post. I don't even have the car yet, for all I know, when it arrives, the diffs might need completely replacing, the belt worn, the body cracked, so I might not have ALL those spares on offer.

I'll post again when I have stripped it down and rebuilt it.

I always look up 'trf511' s on ebay, so I don't know how this one slipped away.

out of curiosity, what was the listing 'heading'?

F1END 16-10-2011 11:17 AM

It was listed as "trf tamiya 511".

I got an email cos I had "tamiya 511" as a saved search.

Might be better to put a space between trf and 511, then more will show up for you.

Anyway, I'm in talks about selling the whole lot of spares as a bulk lot... if that doesn't happen I'll post up the updated list.

Still, nobody has told me roughly what they are worth... 75% of RRP? 60%?

The spares are worth approx HK prices if they are new in packet. Any more, then people will order from abroad. Just type the part numbers into Ebay and search Worldwide, you`ll see what their value is that way.
