Today's... Er race.

Bit wet, well ok very wet, still a good turnout considering. Guess we'll discuss winter plans at the AGM. Still, really happy with the 'rango, one race, started last finished first, :woot: and didn't break it.

coleman758 09-10-2011 02:34 PM

You will be lucky!

I think its indoors as of Sunday

Howler 09-10-2011 02:57 PM

Would seem a shame not to race outdoors at all until spring. There'll be a few fine winter days at least.

Maddy 09-10-2011 03:06 PM

Cant beat a good outdoor race meeting.

Howler 09-10-2011 03:14 PM

Question is, how do we decide week on week where to go? Could we decide on a Friday depending on the forecast and have an email list to confirm whether we're gonna be indoors or out?

Maddy 09-10-2011 03:23 PM

The muddy pathway didnt help either today. :(

The only place I've seen that could efficiently choose was somewhere I used to race at as a kid down south that rented a hall right next to its outdoor track in winter. If the weather was good, they didn't bother with the hall and ran outside. Downside is they still had to pay for the hall, since it was booked and couldn't be used by anyone else.

Ino i aint been here in a while but where is the indoor track ??
Thought we hadnt found one ?

Well it's not BMRCC's track, but we'll discuss that at the AGM I guess.

Si Coe 09-10-2011 09:49 PM

If they plan to run on Sundays its got to be right at the top of the agenda because as I said there aren't really enough racers to support two clubs. As it is I expect it will hurt numbers even on a different day.

Hope you all enjoyed the rain!

They used to do that at Bury Model Shop Buggy Club before it moved to Goshen, there was a purpose built outdoor grass track and an indoor hall next to it where they would race if the weather was too bad...Showing my age now! Not really relevant to the thread though!
