back end seems very loose on pan car.
 

hey, just wanted to ask how loose the back end of a pan car should be, the bit that holds motor and rear wheels. Because mine seem quite loose, but ive never had chance to look at another one so i dont know if thats normal or wrong. any help. Thanks for reading

Not sure what you mean by loose. If you mean "should it move freely from side to side" the the answer is yes, it should. The movement should be very free. To check, remove the damper at the top, and check that the motor pod moves freely throughout its full range of movement. Rebuild the damper, and put some 30wt shock fluid under the top washer - just a smear.

What you should not have is any play in the pivot balls that hold the pod in place. These are bolted to the fibreglass T piece, one front, one rear. Those should be free, but have no up/down or side-to-side play. If they do, tighten the bolts holding them to the T piece - just a bit at a time - until all the play is removed, but the balls are not tight. IF they are tight, you will not get a smooth movement from side to side - see above!

maybe worth shooting a small youtube video to demonstrate exactly the problem that you seem to be experiencing, that way if there is a problem someone may be able to give a clearer diagnosis, another option, go along to your local 1/12 club where someone will look and give their opinion/help.
