Yet another set up query

Evening all,

Today's issue is as follows:

Am suffering with severe off power oversteer when running my b4.1, even running on carpet where you would expect some semi decent grip, any of you race genius's got any suggestions for set up changes to try?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Hey,

Can you post what set-up you are running at the moment?

Do you have the servo saver tight?

Hi Mick

Always coming to the rescue! Top man!

Ok well only built it couple of weeks ago so near enough as per build manual, slight toe out on front wheels, 2degree camber on front wheels, rears as per manual, toed in etc. 30 g of weight over front bulk head, 10 g in each rear triangle.

Not sure about the servo saver! Will go check now, what affect does it have, don't even know what it does?

Springs?
Shock oil?
Upper and lower shock mount positions?
Finally...tyres and surface?

Yep.....

As Col said supply full set-up.

Loose servo saver. Hold the wheels and see if you can turn the servo arm.
You can look in from the side when you do this and see if the two parts of the servo saver separate.

My old b4 is locked in someone else's shed, so over to Mick for the default set-up!

Ok checked servo saver, no evidence of movement when wheels locked.

Try this for carpet:

http://www.cmldistribution.co.uk/pro...ace%202011.pdf

Only change might be front shock on middle hole on tower and silver springs on the rear. But give it a try first before you change any thing.

From the look of you set-up you are running far to light a spring. Brown springs are as soft as you get, they're only really used on dirt.

Let us know how you get on.

Thanks Mick,

Ok, well i ordered spring tuning kits today so will get rid of browns, the set up sheet you linked is blank, who isn't maybe I can find it on cml website myself.

Will let you know how it goes.

MiCk B. 29-09-2011 07:48 PM

I just checked the link it worked for me, so don't know.

It's the Paul Bradby set-up on the CML website from the Petit race.
