Can anyone help with getting the right kit
 

My other half has started painting my shells, I want to get a air brush for her this christmas. But which one? My limit is £200
Be told Moore paint is the best to go for?

A poor brush can be improved by skill and correct paint/thinning/air ratios, more paint will always be needed..

Doesn’t have a airbrush or compressor. Trying to find out what people think would be a good begginers kit.

personally I would recommend looking on ebay and see if you can find a Iwata revolution at a good price make sure its gravity fed like the one ive linked here (if your lucky you will get hose and air filter with it)

I would try and get a half decent compressor (something that will provide upto at least 80psi)

And finally for paint, liquid mask etc contact Jon Miller and get some createx paint.

Heres the stuff you will need

• airbrush
• hose to fit from airbrush to compressor (may require a few fitings from local plumbing store)
• regulator (machine mart have these at around £10ish)
• Compressor
• Paint, liquid mask
• Highly recommend a Paint mask, (These are quite expensive around £25ish, but highly necessary in my opinion)

or as said, a revolution cr is a decent low end iwata

then you will have enough for some paints etc

If you're airbrushing at home noise is probably an issue. So I would suggest as has been before

And all that will come in well within budget.

Oh, and something we've all neglected to tell you. If you're buying an airbrush you want a Double action one, single action are like using an aerosol can, (although if you're Insa or Diam I'm sure there is nothing the matter with that). However if you want to be able to vary the thickness of lines and achieve clever effect double action airbrushes are where it's at ! :thumbsup:

this will get you started, but look through the rest of his vidoes and don't forget your working in reverse on rc bodies.

Because airbrushing is a bit "old skool" the library will probably have some decent books or you can pick up second hand ones from amazon. I wouldn't buy any DVD's though, expensive, don't show everything and once you've learnt they're only useful to stand your mug of coffee on !
