RB5 SP2 AND RB5 Whats the difference?

Can any one tell me the difference between the two as I was looking at buying a RB5 to strip for spares for my VEGA or are there too many differences. I wanted shocks front end and wishbones, lay shaft, slipper etc or are there many differences?

Sorry - That is NOT the info he has requested - That is info on the NEW WC RB5

In short (all that really matters performance wise);

motor centering kit
UM521-1 wishbones (same length butwith only 1 lower shock mounting hole in the middle of where the 2 on UM521 would be)
UM519-1 rear hubs (camber link holes 1/2 hole spacing further out than UM519)

There was a couple of other little bits but essentially they either aren't performance related or get changed out on most setups / conversions anyway.

Sorry but that's the differences between a SP2 and a SP, and I think the question was the diff between a SP2 and the original RB5, which are quite a few, as :
- different rear arms and bones (shorter)
- longer rear shocks and rear tower
- old style shocks (not fluorine coated)
- cheaper turnbuckes
- body

There could be other differences, I don't know them, I didn't owned a RB5 at that time.

Ok Sorry guys, can I clarify. I have found a RB5 SP and was wondering if it was worth me buying it to strip for spares for my vega. Sorry if I gave you guys the wrong idea.

Thank you.

Should be fine, just need the SP2's layshaft IIRC.

Ok, can you advise me then is this a good car to get?
http://www.oople.com/forums/showthre...ghlight=kyosho

Will it be competative as it is and then will it then in the following year be able to be converted to Vega power :)

RogerM 11-10-2011 11:52 AM

That car has the original non velvet coated shocks including the longer rear shock bodies which would probably need changing to suit a VEGA. with so many possible part combinations for the rear end of an RB5 it is worth asking for the part numbers fitted on any 2nd hand car.
That all said it looks tidy enough and I'm sure you'd enjoy running it is an RB5
