motors

what are the dangers with using a non sealed moter vs a sealed motor

How do you mean "non sealed"?

If you are talking about brushed motors, there is no danger
If you are talking about brushless I don't know what you mean!

on i mean the holes in the moter

I suppose the 'danger' of running the motor in your link as opposed to one with no holes is that more dust, etc could get in to the motor which would mean that it may need cleaning more often.

could this brake the motor or would it just need cleaning

Perhaps if you were running in really wet or muddy conditions the holes might be a problem because stuff will get into the motor that shouldn't. In normal conditions it's not really a problem.

I was a bit worried about running a V3 in the back of my B4 but actually it has been no problem at all. I taped the holes up for a while, but when I removed the tape I saw that dirt had got in there anyway and the tape was stopping it from getting out!

If you simply worried about dirt getting in your motor, then Trinity do the very simplest of items in their TEam EPIC range called a "Dirt Diaper", which is a foam motor cover designed simply to protect agaisnt dirt and dust ingress.

They are nice and cheap, (£1.59 for 4) and avialable to order through any of the X-Factory UK dealers shown on our website, part number is TEP1029
