Would the ones for the TA05/trf415 work?
I dont think tamiya built extra drivecups for the 501x

Tamiya - 53451

They fit but the cup side is about 3mm to short:wtf::eh?:.... Looks like I`ll have to call up the Tamiya factory here in Japan and talk with the,... since none of the hobby shops know the part#...as soon as I find it out ..I`ll post it up so you all know it;)

Any luck finding the cup? I broke the one on my DF-03 as well. Seems to be made of cheese. The inside is a different material than the outside.

Please post when you know something. I broke one of mine today.
Thanks

I broke one of these badboys, not from racing the car though. I bought another one way (used) for the parts.

Check this site out, the answer is there.

That's not the one. That one is for the tourers and the cups are shallower. The ones for the buggies are longer and as far as I know, Tamiya doesn't sell them loose.

Shop around maybe for a 2nd hand one way? I think (99.99% sure) that the DF03 one way cups are identical so maybe if you can find one of those cheap? in fact they must be the same as I used the df03 cup when I broke my 501X one.

If someone can check and see if the D4 or the ZX-5 one-way parts will work. From the parts list they look close to the same part. It would be nice if they were all the same.
So if you know of a racer that has one of the units please check them.

I may have the chance to check on the D4 unit.

Just tried a zx5 outdrive, not the same length sub shaft (shorter by 2.5mm) but 1mm longer in the cup. Have fitted it and spooled the car up and it works fine. Hope this helps.

501X Driver 08-04-2008 02:39 PM

I found just the output shafts for the TC3 and they appear to work, The shaft is longer and the cup is shorter. I may need to throw some shims on the shaft to keep it from going in too far. I will verify it all this week and get back with the info. Oh the 2 outputs were $12 in the USA.

jimmy 08-04-2008 02:42 PM

hmm, will the dogbone end of the drive shaft fit in the AE cup though? I know losi use a much bigger size but I'm not sure about AE/Tamiya

501XDriver, did you check on the D4 cups? They are item number 61452. I found them here http://shopping.rcmodel.hk/product_i...ducts_id=10772

They look the right size and shape.

Sounds like you might be wanting the NTC3 oneway outdrive cups. They go on the BJ4/B44 as well and are longer than the TC3 cups.

Jimmy,

You can try my D4 cups next time I see you if you need.
