My son and myself are very interested in this series as we are getting back into 4WD.

Shame its only trophies for the top ten as its a long way to travel for the series with not a lot of chance of my 10 year old getting anything at the end of it.

For me not a problem but the kids they like to recieve something to show for thier effort.

Will there be a junior championship within the main points.

Looking forward to getting ready for this.

Bring on October

Hope to see you all soon.

Cheers

Hi Mark

Fair point on the juniors - we'll sort something out so the juniors that do enough rounds to count (3) will receive something for their efforts.

We really want as many juniors as possible:thumbsup:

Cheers

Please have a control tyre! Will save me buying loads different types. Even if the tyre is poo at least we'll all be the same...

mikeyscott 14-09-2011 07:53 AM

In the wet use Ballistic greens in the dry Schumacher yellows

I asked a number of people trackside last Sunday and they didn't want a control tyre due to costs.

If there was to be a control it would be ballistic buggy tyres.

Once again it seems I can't win

Hi all,
Please book me in at your end of month meeting, I will be there.
Also on the controlled tyre - if the tyre is on a National tyre, like Schimacher mini spikes and Baliistics then you don't have much of a problem in getting more drivers to your events.
If though you suddenly announce a tyre that has to be bought rather than in you pit box, you will have issues.
Also leaving it open allows for people to experiment with what they might be working towards like using Fast Trax or D Boots etc etc .
If you asked me, which you haven't (LOL) then just leave it open - people will choose what Mike has stated as that will be the quickest tyres wet and dry - hope that had some positive input or you could just tell me to shut up - LOL

Thanks, for input Tony, and look forward to seeing you at the end of the month.

We usually try and take input/feedback on board positively and other times we get the hump and bitch needlessly….

Control tyre was discussed at length at committee meeting (think at least one member fell into a coma-like state at one point….) which probably suggests there is no right answer.

In the end, following discussion with drivers on Sunday, we decided to keep it open so the more competitive drivers who might be using the events as a bit of winter practise/testing could use the correct tyre for conditions and those on a budget can use whatever they have in their pitbox without the expense of having to buy new tyres.

In reality if you have some rear yellow minispikes for dry and rear ballistic greens for wet (plus something to balance out the front) you are pretty well covered at TORCH.

Looking forward to a decent turn out for these winter meetings and hope free tyre choice is a positive thing for most.

Cheers

Rob
