X2C slipper

I keep having problems with the slipper on my x2c,the lock nut isn't locking on the thread on the shaft and keeps coming loose. Does anybody know if there is another, shorter spring that fits off another car?.

Strange, not heard of this before, maybe some loctite might be enough ?? Or a new nyloc nut if yours is now worn

Have you tried squeezing the spring with a pair of pliers? Or maybe it's just a dodgy nyloc nut?

Nothing wrong with the lock nut lordnikon, only had the car a week. If I tighten the nut up enough so it does lock the slipper is way too tight!.

Tried squeezing the spring Alec but to no avail unfortunately:thumbdown:

Im going to buy an AE V2 spring and try that, im currently using a losi xxx spring but ill get back to you on the AE spring, its only Ģ2

I just "dremeled" a bit of one end of the spring and that solved the problem.

Now i can tight the nut so that it donīt come loose and the slipper isnīt looked

Cheers Tom. Ive thought about shortening the spring but then it won't have a flat end on to sit flush. That's why I wondered if any other manufacturers springs fit. I'll have to measure the length and see what I can find.

The spring is quite long when new and the nut doesnt need to be screwed on a great deal. Therefore not biting in the plastic of the lock nut.

Screw the nut on all the way tight to compress the spring fully leave it for a while and then back it off to suit your slipping needs.

if you have enough room you can always put another nut on and tighten the 2 against each other :)
