Sticks vs Steerwheel

I have always had a stick transmitter and maybe considering changing to a steerwheel. The question is how many people have done this successfully? and heres the magic question are steerwheels quicker than sticks.

Whats your opinions???

I changed. Took a month to feel totally comfortable with it. Steering with a wheel is much better imo but using brakes is a little more difficult because of the size of the hole for your finger in the trigger (if you know what I mean)

Steering and throttle I'm fine with. I just can't train my brain to use the brakes haha

I used to use a stick type Tx many years ago when I raced but when I got back into the sport a couple of months ago I was advised that a wheel was the way to go so I bought a wheel type.

I have just bought myself a new stick type Tx this week though as I couldnt get to grips with the braking on the wheel.

Steering and acceleration were absolutely fine, but in the cut and thrust of a race around the tricky infield I just didnt find the action required for rapid acceleration and braking an intuitive or instinctive one.

I know others prefer it, but for me the gain of effective braking with sticks outweighs the loss of the wheel for steering.

Imho its as simple as personal choice , many people started with sticks and anything else feels wrong , But it doesnt mean they are not as effective as the wheel type , I grew up with sticks and am now changing to a wheel and expect to struggle for a while , My advice would be to use what you are comfortable with :)

Same for me - stick a little foam to the upper part of the trigger to reduce the gap.

Here is another thread about the exact same topic

This exact question was discussed just four weeks ago:

I went steer wheel years ago when I was younger and wanted to switch from 27mhz to 40mhz but I couldn't afford a stick set.

The rest of the world tends do drive wheels so the latest developments go to the wheel sets 1st, plus there is a lot more choice of wheel radios than sticks.
