New to this help

Hi all,ok just received my losi 2.0 brushless truggy with a zippy 30c 8000 lipo.
Just want to charge it right ,i have thr following.
Trakpower pit pro 559li,with a v balancer, will this do the trick?.
Or i have a muchmore charger that also can charge lipos.
I Believe its 4 cell battery and can be charged up to 16 amps?
Or will i have to buy another charger.
Thanks.

the Trakpower pit pro 559li is not listed on their site from what i can tell the 550 which is, is a 50w charger and can only charge up to 3 cells so will not do the job if you say your battery is 4 cell.

Do you have the spec for your charger?

I assume the 8000 is the capacity 8000mah, if the battery has writern on it a charge rate given in C that is the maximum rate so if the battery is rated at 2C charge then it is 2 x 8000mA which is 16A. If there is no charge rate writern on the battery then a max of 1C must be used which will be 8A.

I personally only charge at 1C prolongs the life of the pack and is safer.

If you charger can charge 4 cells but can not reach the full charge rate of the battery say 8A this is not an issue it just takes longer to charge.

So to charge a 4 cell battery at 8A is 16.8v (4.2v per cell max) x 8 = 134W charger. So 16A would need a 269W charger (Big charger :o)

If you are after a new cheap charger look at giantcod.co.uk
