Few questions about the Short Course Nationals
 

I've just built up an SC10FT and am going to enter the next round at A1, but i've got a couple of questions if someone can spare the time.

1) I haven't got a transponder. Are they provided?
2) How are they mounted? I used to race 1/10th 2wd about 10 years ago and they were mounted in the wing. Not sure how to mount them in an SC truck.

Yes they do provide transponders and one of the places i mounted mine was in the window of the truck top corner of either side,make a hole just big enough to fit and use a body clip to mount.

Great, thanks for the quick reply. Just wasn't sure if they were still mounted with a body clip. Most other things have moved on, so i just thought transponders might have.

Would mount the hand out transponder as low and forward as possible,

on the chassis is better from a club organisers point of view as they are less likely to be damaged or cause damage to your bodyshell i you take a big roll.

If you mount them too high you may get issues with lap counting... most Loops are underneath tracks and their range is limited.

If you mount them too far back then if you ever have a photo finish with another car, the one with the transponder most orward will get the win.

Thanks for the info. Don't suppose you know what diameter hole they use and how big they are. I'll knock up a mount right at the front.
