Oh to be rich...

However I'm not, so it seems a GT14-B is not in my budget atm...Not till later this year.

Would I have to drive in another class using my EXB-16? (it's a bit like a Shark).. I could afford to ballrace the drive train and maybe fit a Micro brushless combo of some type...clean it up and it's good to go. Of course i'll be driving in Z finals :)

Would anyone laugh at me for trying to race it :D...

Hi Jason, the EXB16 would fit in 1/16 class based on a quick look at the dimensions. That means you would also be able to run the same wheels and tyres as the rest of the class too.
No one would laugh at you and it'd be good to see some variety.
Why not try it and see how you get on. The EZrun brushless combos are cheap and reliable ways of upgrading the car and there's a vast range of lipos out there too - no list to stick to!

Excellent :)

I'll dust it off and fix it up. Umm..need a new shell, I guess a Phat Bodies shark shell should fit.

What wheels do most run? I saw mention of 26mm touring car wheels, is this what I'd need to get?

Is there a control tyre for this winters season?

Thanks

J

Just to reinforce petes reply, you are more than welcome at the micro nationals no matter what you race, as long as it fits dimensionally :)

Never been a control tyre as far as I'm aware, but it has to be a rubber, and most people go for Schumacher rally blocks or mini pins, no additive allowed, although you couldn't use it with those kinds of tyres anyway.

these are the tyres i've been buying, put an offer in of £5 a pair and got 4 pairs of whites and 4 pairs of yellows for £40

They're the tyres alright, but you shouldn't need that many!
Yellows last for aaaaaaages!

Don't think I would, the last Mtroniks speedo I used was rubbish, they used to be really good in the 90's too.

I did read that a few people we're running old SXX's

I'm currently running an LRP Nxxt40 in mine, which is a really good speedo imo. Would have put in an old SPX, but the motors I'm running are sensorless which the SPX doesn't like.
