Ghea Pistons
 

Hi ppl,

I have recently purchased a Cougar SV Pro which is awesome! :thumbsup:

However, I have read that many of the Schumacher team drivers use Ghea Pistons. (They improve the car on bumps)

Can anyone tell me whether you have to adjust the oil wt when using them as I hear they have larger holes than the original schumacher items?

My understanding is that the setup sheets on the Petit RC site from Mossy are using the Ghea pistons- but I could be wrong! (He has specified it on a couple)

If they are then you will not have to adjust the oil wt if you follow these setups

Can someone confirm this?

I see there is someone else selling tapered pistons slightly cheaper than the Ghea and also with free postage.

Has anyone tried these and are tapered pistons in general worth it?

This is off course very relative (everyone has a different understanding of "worth"), but IMHO considering the price of the Ghea's : NO.
I personally reverted to Schuey pistons. The Ghea's were a bit low on "pack" for my personal taste.

Forgive my naivety but what exactly is 'pack'?

Big piston holes + thicker oil = less pack (good for small bumps)
Small piston holes + thinner oil = less pack (good for bigger jumps)

Well that isn't easy to get your head around!

I think I will try the Ghea pistons with one of Simon Moss setups and go from there.
