Buying an x2c

Hi guys, ill be getting myself an x2c shortly and wanted to know if there are any parts that I need to get to get the car upto speed for racing or would it be ok straight out of the box?.

Also, could you suggest any spares that I might need?.

Cheers Phill:thumbsup:

Pretty good out the box, my dads run his kit setup and prefers it to his 22...

Id advise ceramic diff balls, B4 slipper pads and spur, thats about it...

If you fancy a few extras the rear hubs are a good option, much stronger than the kit and possibly the new idler gears...

Thanks for the reply Tom. Which shop would you recommended is the best place for a good range of spares for the x2c?

Can you only use saddles pack lipos with this or can you use stick as in the monkey

luniemiester 24-08-2011 09:48 AM

saddles only fit in the X2c - the monkey is the stick pack chassis.

Glad i swapped to the X2c - definately a good car for the money!

Got my x2c on order, should be with me by the weekend:thumbsup:.

I was wondering if anybody knows of any hobby shops that stock the Kevlar diff gear and the nylon idler gear?. Ive seen them on the Ansmann site as upgrades but not seen any shops that stock them.

Still waiting on the Kevlar diff parts but the idler gears have been released just get you LHS to order them. I know ours came pretty quickly, and have sold pretty quickly to

Cheers Rob,ill have a word with them when I pick my car up.

Tom3012 24-08-2011 10:16 PM

You shouldnt need the kevlar diff gear tbh, just get the idler gears and a b4 spur with slipper pads as mentioned earlier, job done

brooksy 24-08-2011 10:42 PM

Im going to get the ae spur and pads this weekend Tom:thumbsup:. Ive been told the ae springs fit the shocks on the x2c but only just, are there any other manufacturers springs that fit that are better quality than the ansmann one?.

Tom3012 25-08-2011 10:49 AM

My dads is using the kit ones and they work well, losi ones fit but are a little on the large side and you'll need the spring cups, havent really tried any others unfortunately

brooksy 25-08-2011 11:22 AM

Ill stick with the kit ones for now then, see how it goes.

Well, finally got the car yesterday and its now built. For the price you can't go wrong. Only had a couple of issues with the car which were putting the motor in and the fact ive got a house brick for a esc!.

I can see now why it tells you to put the motor in halfway through the build and not when you've finished.

All in all im very happy with it and I can't wait to run it now.

Kyosho and TRF springs fit perfectly with no slop

brooksy 28-08-2011 04:45 PM

That's good news Alec, ive got an FS2 and a few sets of springs.

Very happy with it!. Hoping to race it in anger a week on sunday at rhr autumn cup. Only run it once on Wednesday and it drives really well. Kit settings with 40wt oil in front and 30wt in the back.
