where to buy: 27 FM Crystals??

I recently, thanks to this site, got another KO Esprit 2 transmitter, but it's still going to be crystals for me.
anyway, 27 fm, where the heck do you buy crystals for them these days?
I currently run 27.405 and would like another pair of those to save switching from chassis to chassis all the time, but failing that 2 pair of anything else would work as I have no one else on anything but 2.4 stuff to worry about.

thanks !
Stu

p.s. I guess perhaps the other option might be to convert my transmitters to 2.4, no idea where to look for that either....

you can buy a kit to convert pretty much any 27 or 40 meg radio to 2.4, google "Corona 2.4". i don't know anyone who has done a conversion so can't say if it's any good.

But to be honest, these days you can buy a basic 2.4ghz etronix pulse radio cheaper than you can buy a bog standard 27mhz acoms which for years has been the bargain basement radio system & would cost about the same as getting 2 or 3 pairs of extra crystals, so it makes no sence not to upgrade, unless you are particularly fond of the retro systems of the past. Even most RTR cars these days are coming with 2.4 rather than 27mhz radio's in the box.

MadWolfie: The OP has already asked about the Etronix/Core transmitters in another thread and decided to stick to KO.

Found these:

UK based but they may post to you.

granted, but i was merely making the point these days it's cheap as chips to go 2.4 & the costs are about the same now for 2.4ghz as it is for the price of a decent 27/40mhz system & you can find a 2.4 system that has similar features for about the same kind of money. Plus the cost of a spare receiver & a couple of crystals work out about the same as buying a 2nd 2.4 equivalent.
:p

thanks fellas !

I still can't find anyone selling 27.405
that antics online link looks good though, might just get a couple of split sets there.

as far as the other radio goes, well I just love how the KO feels, so I did manage to get another used one, so there is still the possibility of converting it to 2.4 down the road.
although I almost don't need to as like I said, no one else out here runs 27FM, so I never have to worry at the club or our series races.

oh, also, the Corona 2.4 diy thing looks great, but the Espirit 2 is module based, right ? so will it work?

I did stumble across this : http://81.98.145.74/rays/rc/ko-frsky.html
this looks promising !

KO 27MHz crystals used to be readily available, as I ran 27 in both my Vantage 2 and Vantage 3. They definately used to be available in the USA as I did get some recievers from there if I remember correctly. The UK distributor also used to have some stuff.

I haven't got any crystals left, as I sold it all recently. Although I have randomly ended up with a Vantage 2 module, and Novak reciever!

I think the xtals in the hpi baja 5b are 27mghz am if so go to any hpi dealer and ask for them,I've had this problem before as STD 27mghz xtals are fm.Or it could be the other way around anyway ripmax sell them.
