I've yet to figure out from the photos how to set the gear mesh on it!

Is it changing the shim in the rear as in this picture?

have emailed the company to ask if the above is correct

If that is true it will also change the wheelbase, and hence the handling. Not the best of designs I think.

HI Glenn,
thats correct.

I have decided to these because:

During a car length of 205mm and a 0.2mm/1teeth module (64dp) makes the change from 2mm adjustment path to 10 teeth. This constitutes only 0.9% of the wheelbase.

Look at these side there are the plates to adjust the pinion gear.

Maybe this is just me...

For Spec at a National, I am running an 80T spur and 36T to 39T pinions to give me a range of ratios between 60 and 70mm per rev.

The following day, for Mod, I need an 88T spur and am trying to get 40 to 45mm per rev for Modified. Explain to me again how I can use a 2mm range of shims to set those different gear ratios? :wtf:

That's good to know, it's exactly the same as I do! And I'm sure many others.

People have their own ideas on 12th scale design. Though if I wanted a low volume car I wouldn't be going for this one, I'd be buying Vesa's.

Does changing meshing also alter the wheelbase?

Yes.

Which not only upsets the handling, but is going to make bodyshell wheel arches a very interesting shape so you can move the rear axle around as you change ratio!!

The more I think about this, the worse it gets!!!
