Motocross simulator for PC

this is pretty amazing

http://mxsimulator.com/videos.html

don't think its easy, its far from easy, buts its seems pretty acurate. having to back-side landings and stuff, front/back kick when in the air from throttle, even gyro effect from the front wheel to do whips and stuff :)

This brings back memories!!!! I raced moto cross for years in California, even raced amatuer day at Anaheim supercross:o

That thing is hard work!!

What did you race DC? I raced for the last ten years then started cars again due to knee injuries(and age and too fat:D). We went to the 2001 us open and Glen Helen when we were there. Awesome, So-Cal is mx heaven !!

in the 'bike setup' options there is a 'stability' slider, default is set to 100 (very stable, not good at turns)

lowering this will make the bike more responsive, but you will fall over a lot more.

I am running 85 and it feels quite good.

there is also an option for 'reverse steering' by default this is on, basically by default you control the way the bike leans. if you turn this to off (no) you have direct control over the steering, its a weird feeling but that is actually how you would ride a bike, you steer away from the corner to get the bike to lean over and then you 'balance' the bike at that lean angle to carry the turn, you then turn into the turn to fetch your bike back upright.

most people don't think about this when they ride, they just ride.

it is a full simulation, you do actually have to slow down for the corners, its not motocross madness 2

I used to love MCM 2 - The best thing was the Tracks you could download on various forums, i even got Foxhill on there which was ace as i always used to go there and watch when i was younger!

This sim does look good though, i can imagine it must be really hard to make a bike game "feel" realistic with the whole leaning thing but this looks pretty good to me!

I'm sure the final version with crowds and banners etc would look cool  Hopefully they'll stick some Supercross tracks in too!

Thats a lot better than i was expecting, it's quite hard but after a bit and once you understand what your inputs are actually doing its quite fun.

Wow. dude, I lived at Glen Helen for 2 years and ran the MX track, also helped build the speedway track!!!!
My last bike was a YZ 250, 1988, I have raced at all the tracks in so cal, but gave up cause of injury as well, monday's were just too painful. This RC is much better on my body!!!!

I met most of my best friends in casualty!!!:p
Glen Helen track is in an odd place isn't it? Police training one side, drug rehab the other:eh?:. Beautiful track mind! and v friendly people. My last bike was a yz250 after a brief encounter with an '04 crf250, it was quick bet didn't suit my stroker style.
Sorry to hijack the thread chris! If you fancy a realistic game, try mx superfly or ricky carmichael championship mx on the ps2. Both pretty good. I can't seem to get this to load up on my pc, just have to be patient me thinks?

hi doughty

dan

YZ125
84 stability
arcade physics - no (turn this to yes and its impossible to fall off)
front and rear brakes - antilock
stop wheelies - no
shifting - auto
dab when stopped - yes (makes the rider put his foot down when stopped)
reversed steering - yes (way too freaking when its 'right' would really screw me up for racing)
Lean indicator - no (I think its useless)

one thing I have found to help get going after a crash, hold the cutch in and wait for him to pick up the bike, then gas it and drop the clutch, once your up to a reasonable speed its easier to stay up
