What springs for 502x and similar
What springs are people using on their 502x or similar car. Also what fluid rate are you putting in your shocks and on what surface. Im trying to find a good setup for a grass track, quite bumby and rutted with some good jumps involved.
Answers on a postcard to Got a tamiya and want to beat all the others PO BOX 502X Cheers! |
I run tamiya blues all round.oil, well depends on condotions. I found Lee martins 511 outdoor set ans it works well. It's gor York outdoor track. You would normally set the whole up to Inc the shock set as well. I run 32.5 oil in the rear and 35 in the front. Have alook at this link

Hi m8 I run Yokomo Silvers on the front and Associated Greens on the rear. I run 35wt oil in the front shocks and 30wt oil in the rear. I run these springs because it let's me get the desired ride heights, something I wasn't able to achieve with the rear Tamiya springs, little too long for getting desired ride height.

I very much like the idea of not having to cut down the springs to get the ride height right. Dont suppose you know of a good place to get these? Also were these on a bumpy, jumpy grass track type course? Are teh springs soft, medium?

Scotty. Sorry to correct you but the front springs are Yokomo Silver med springs from the MX4 and the rear springs are Associated Green with 2 coils cut out. I had to remove some coils to get your car to sit correctly. |
AE springs are a perfect fit for TRF shocks.
Try AE silver front 35w AE silver rear 30W You can buy a tuning set of front and rear spring kits from AE for like!$12, front kit comes with five different spring rates, and rear set also comes with five different spring rates. I love Tamiya, but $12 will only get you one set of springs. AE part numbers #1581 buggy front kit #1582 buggy rear kit |
Must have picked you up wrongly, my bad, original post corrected.
Scotty.... (could've swore the greens came outta a yokomo packet) |
