B4.1 Worlds Longer Chassis
Hi All,
Confused.com Worlds B4, is it a lengthened B4.1 chassis or a shortened T4 chassis, or a mix of the two? Neil |
How I understand it is they cut a piece out of a T4 chassis. It must be the older chassis moulding because it has the round mark in the bottom.
|
I believe they have shortened the T4 chassis...
|
So who's gong to rush out and get a T4 chassis and get cutting?!
Rich Lowes car looked a very neat cut and shut, pics are on oople worlds report Seems funny, Losi 22 is getting shorter, B4.1 is getting longer! |

How does that lengthen B4.1 chassis stand up against the T4 chassis used for the B4 XL?

The chassis' used by the team in Finland are shortened T4 chassis.
Some of the non-factory British team had Paul Worsley do the mod for them so they would be running the same car the works team had decided on after the warm-up. Definately set-up for the meeting seeing as both Proline and JConcepts had adapted their shells to fit. As I understand it, it's not something that has been run in the UK and is a 'dirt spec'. Seeing as the Losi car is already long and Kyosho seem to have lengthened their chassis too, it's clearly working on dirt. Although Matsukura TQ'd a round with the standard chassis as well... Absolutely no idea if AE plan on doing this mid length chassis as a production part yet. |
Cheers for the update Keith, are you going to give a long B4 a go??
You were pretty rapid with the std B4 or is it C4.1 now?? Anyway its AE/CML so all good! |

Can anyone explain WHY and WHEN (read - which conditions) this thing is supposed to be soooo much better than the stock chassis??? Because keep in mind the vasaa track was very peculiar... ultra smooth, crazy jumps, chicanes, ... not your everyday track...

with the longer chassie you got a little less steering, but you can push the car more trough and in the corner. Also better over bumps and jumps a little bit better.

Yes - I understand the benefit of a longer chassis... what strikes me is that everyone, regardless of what kind of track they run on, thinks that this lengthened chunk of plastic will solve everything but world hunger and goes chop T4 parts right away... there's a lot of conditions where this won't work, and this is why the stock chassis is as it is ;) Paul |
