I reckon thats a good idea, leave it for a few weeks and see how it goes.

coleman758 20-07-2011 06:55 PM

Or you could make it more lively.!

If thats the problem Phil the answer is to get involved more. Then it doesn't matter who they are, it really is your track.

At one of the Bury regionals last year, some guy started spouting off on the rostrum at Buds because he wasn't standing in the same place in round 2 as he had in round 1. It seems at some clubs thats not the done thing. Anyway, I told him to wind his neck in, reminded him that such matters are down to the host club and that as a representative of Bury Metro I had no problem with Buds moving places, but I did with him kicking up a fuss. Soon sorted it.

Doesn't have to be the club either - Bud's probably wouldn't have such an issue anymore either. Buds Balls has made him an official player in the RC world, whereas you are current JAD (Just Another Driver) at the moment.

The funny thing is, Bury is actually the least likely place to bow and scrape over the presence of a few F1's and 2's. We've already made it known that the club is for its members, and that non-members visiting are in effect guests and should act like it. Other clubs are much worse at this, and don't assume it doesn't happen in other sports cos it does.

Regionals and bigger meets do bring out some ar$ehole$ though. Its one of the reasons we stopped doing the whole Chadderton thing.

coleman758 20-07-2011 07:16 PM

Buds = An Official Player

He will like that haha!

captainlip 20-07-2011 07:18 PM

Unfortunately these attracted to the regional were also spouting off with language to marshalls and each other in the two heats I did. Had me chuckling at the time but tbh it was just pathetic!

Not to mention again some tool blatantly kamikaze me in the final corner to take the win! Beyond aggressive driving! And I thought minke was the kamikaze queen!

coleman758 20-07-2011 07:30 PM

I think people shouting on the rostrum is out or order.
It does really get up my nose. Shouting the odd "Marshall" to get attention should be the limit.

Anyone badmouthing or insulting people should be banned or restricted there and then regardless of F rating.

Si Coe 20-07-2011 07:31 PM

If I'd been racing I'd have spoken to the guy swearing at marshals. You know I've had that conversation before! Clubs rules are very clear on this, failure to comply will see you being asked to leave, no exceptions even for regionals.
But you see I can say that, and know that it would happen - you can't.

As for aggressive driving - on a dry day when people can see better you report stuff like that to race control and they will keep a look out next round. Whilst I was in race control I was asked to adjust times for people caught track cutting - deliberately poor driving can result in the same. Please note that this does not apply to Minke - he doesn't crash into you on purpose he just can't drive!

mattb 20-07-2011 07:45 PM

I would just like to point out to anyone reading this crap that this is only captain lips opinion me and most of the other bury lads are good friends with most of the visitors to the regional,i had a great day dispite not finishing a heat lol.
And thanks to all the f1 drivers etc who are sound guys!!!

ps try talking to some of them phil before calling them and they where probably hanging round in groups cos they are mates, just like us lot where.
