Schumacher thread

any chance on getting a schumacher thread started ? just because they don't have a new offroad car yet doesn't mean they shouldn't have a section.

YEAH GO SCHUMACHER!!!!;)
Loving my Mi2ec, but they have a 1/8th off road car...
Still does anyone own a fusion 28, as i am wondering as to how the hell did they get a .28 size engine in a 1/10 touring car:o, how does it handle and what is the top speed?

schmacher 22-01-2008 02:37 PM

they distribute a 1/8 scale off road car...it's not from them...if it was i'd have it

dbizzle5 24-01-2008 04:14 PM

Schumachers new 4wd is due out Feb or March! Anyone seen it yet? Belt drive!!!!! and a 4 and 2 cell layout!!!!

jimmy 24-01-2008 04:24 PM

I'm sure theres a good likelihood of making a dedicated Schumacher section when there's something a little more concrete to talk about - but I can see it going the way of the serpent section without a car around, and just taking up space.
The new car should be rather exciting but I've yet to see or hear about it being raced? Perhaps we simply won't see it at all until the toyfair next month.

dbizzle5 24-01-2008 04:27 PM

Well I know for deffo that is done and know people who have seen it. I know some schumacher drivers who will be running these this summer for definate. Bit put off with the fact it is a belt drive though!

jimmy 24-01-2008 04:39 PM

Aye, different horses and all that though. I loved my BJ4we but I find the 501X to be easier to drive consistently and smoother -lot more work with cleaning it tho.

dbizzle5 24-01-2008 04:40 PM

Thats wot puts me off!! :D Extra maintanence of belt isnt too hot for me!

telboy 24-01-2008 07:50 PM

At least it gives you something to do in between races. :)

glypo 24-01-2008 11:42 PM

The car makes it debut public appearance at Nurnburg in a couple of weeks and will be in the shops within a few months after as people have said.

I can't wait, and yeah.... we need Schumacher section. Everyone knows Schumacher is the best really :D

bigred5765 24-01-2008 11:52 PM

if shaft drive is the bomb why have all the Tc guys gone back to belt

Dodgy one's at that ;).
they used to make alot more then that and were very good .
i uded to run the Top Cat which then became the Cougar for those old skool people

RSharpy 25-01-2008 09:35 AM

The new Shuey sounds like its going to be a nice car, as said 4 & 2 cell lay out and its ment to be a complete new car rather than using bits from old ones and a slim chassis. Its said to be very well balanced.

In regards of belt vs shaft, Jimmy said he feels belt is smoother and Dbizzle prefers shaft because of the low maintanance.

Does anybody else have thoughts on pro's and con's for belt and shaft? Or is there that much power in the motors and batteries now days does it really matter?

Any more theorys?

had both many moons ago :D

Lee 25-01-2008 09:39 AM

The cougar 2 was my first car, the "team" version was the mutts nuts.

TC`s went back to belts because of torque steer, this is not some thing we suffer from in off road due to the size and weight of the wheels. Also a shaft car was crap in low grip situations especially from a standing start, as the motor effectively tries to flip the car it lifts one side slightly and loses grip. In the dry though you have a different story though, belts get shafted. We dont seem to suffer from this though in off road.

Shaft is the future, less maintenance, more punch and no pingage:D
