Worlds Quad Jump.

1 Attachment(s)
Located at the front of the 1/10th scale off-road worlds track in Vaasa, Finland, is this mighty four-piece jump. This is a new addition since the warm up event a few weeks ago, and there is speculation about how the 4wd cars will handle it - what do you all think? Will any of the super fast powered machines take the full quad, or do you think drivers will opt for the less risky 'triple-single' or 'double-double' option?

if it's left to right i think it'll be easy, how ever right to left single tripple only i think<?

Mrs oOple 17-07-2011 09:30 AM

Sorry, should have clarified that - I think the cars will be coming from the left hand side.

Quad or triple single
Anyone considering the other 2 options shouldn't be racing at the worlds!!!

Depends what the run up is like but I'd say triple and land on down ramp then hit the power!

Come on Neil: full quad each lap :D

Is there a live feed anywhere?

Live RC are here and will be doing their thang, they've been setting up all sorts of fancy gear...

oOple report will of course be updated as often as we can for your top quality reading pleasure.

The jump it self should be possible for most en even easy for the top guys, but if I'm correct there is a chicane right at the end. So I think most will do triple single to have a stable car through the chicane. The ~top 20 will jump the whole thing.

In practise maybe but the downslope on the fourth jump is short, when we were there for the euro's a few years ago, that was for the most part a double but with a small step down, even the best in europe couldn't hit it every time just ask Tricky he dropped out of 2 A mains while trying to do it.

Looks triple-single to me

_sleigh_ 17-07-2011 04:58 PM

Looks like the perfect passing opportunity to me

I'm going for the quad at some point with 4wd :p

The run up is almost as long as the jump itself and starts with a slight downhill, the landing though is really short and would be hard to get stopped for the corner. The last bit of the jump looks exactly the same as the double/stepdown thing that was there before as far as I can tell.

My estimations of you have just gone up rich! lol:thumbsup:

I can guarantee at least one 4wd will be quading...

Team Two Fingers doesn't mess about! Stefan's here too so we're out in force this week :p

One of the Aussies was telling me earlier he might single all four, so I challenged him to downside all the ripples in the washboard bit
