This question would be better asked in the kyosho section. Will see if it can be moved.

In answer to question the zx-5 is the oldest of the zx-5 range with the newest being the fs2. The fs & fs2 have the saddle pack chassis.
Parts for the zx-5 are readily available from places like jespares. However a lot of the parts are not compatible with the fs and fs2 models.

Adion has summed it up nicely, pop over to the Kyosho section and we will happily help you work through the models and find the one that suits you best.

As for what do we think about the car, IMHO it is the best overall package in 4wd at the moment ... super easy to set up, needs nearly zero maintenance (if built correctly of course) and forgiving to drive but there are plenty of fast setup out there if you prefer an edgy feel.

thanks for the replies guys. reason i ask is that ivebeen offered a zx-5 with 5 sets of batteries, charger esc tx and rx for £150. you think thats a good deal?

ive got a hobao hyper st at the moment but its frustrating me as i havent got enoough time to ake sure its tuned etc... wheres leccy power lets me basically plug in and go!

I personaly wouldent bother if its not an lazer fs (saddle pack batterys) ive owned all the lazers from comp to sp to fs and the fs and fs2 are brilliant cars mate.

ah right... whys that matt? im gonna be new bck to leccy racing/bashing so looking for something to get me back into it and seemed like a good deal...

I guess it depends what your after it for.
The fs has a lot of changes and a decent chassis and the fs2 can be upgraded to from the fs and has a better chassis. I have seen some zx5's that have been also upgraded with the fs chassis as well.

If you want something cheap to start you off then you could do a lot worse. It depends on the total package that you are after.

well im after it as a quick startup into electrics again. ive dipped my feet into nitro's but never got to grips with it so hoping i can go back to electrics and have some good racing....

although all this brushless/lipo stuff is waaaaay over my head! lol!

So the one for £150 is not brushless or lipo?
