Rcs Masking fluid limitations?
Does anyone know any types of paint that cannot be used with rcs Lm
I've been asked to paint something non Rc related (a coach!) Many thanks |
I have used several solvent based paints with success.
What type of paint are you planning on using? As always, if in doubt test first. Also, if you require a large volume in one go for a special project i.e. a coach then please contact me. Feel free to email me mate - [email protected] Cheerz, Jon |
Many thanks Jon for the fast reply
The paint says it is a universal acrylic paint to be cleaned with cellulose ? Cheers |
no sweat matey.
like pactra/tamiya? i am pretty certain people have used those in conjunction with my liquid mask so i would imagine it to be ok. as said though, do a quick test. that will be the most definitive answer you will get ;) just give me a shout if ya need to buddy, you know where i'm at |
Cheers Jon
Done a little test and baked for speed and seems perfect as per normal:thumbsup: Fire up the airbrush lol coach is only a brand new Volvo  |
sweet
what we got lined up for the coach? |
Ah I can't keep it up. It's a model coach made by Volvo £100 and it's a present for a coach company owner to be done in his livery. The company drives many high profile and celeb clients.
I was going to post a pic when done showing the toy but I can't keep the gag going lol Cheers mate |
haha
thought it sounded like a bit of a dodgey paint to use on a project like that. either way, hope it goes well n glad ya got the question answered ;) |
Can it be used on two pack paints and baked ok? Got me thinking now!
|
I am yet to test it with 2k
as per the previous posts, if in doubt, test it prior to using on any projects. |
I've used it with 2K base coat for years and it's fine, you just need to apply the mask thicker. Also make sure you have a tack cloth and air blower to hand as it doesn't stick to the mask and as you peel it off it just flakes and goes everywhere.
However DON'T try and mask it with 2K solids (as in those that use hardeners), we tried it as we had to do a logo in a very specific colour on a van... needless to say the trainee spent the rest of the day sanding off the paint and the mask  |
