Why is the 22's motor so far forwards in mid-configuration?

Anybody any thoughts on why the motor is placed so far forwards compared to other in mid-configuration?

TLR should redesign the gearbox to shift the idlers up out of the way so that the motor can come back 15mm or so. Then they should look at mounting the rear tower in front of/over the gearbox so that the shocks mount to the front of the rear arms - may require a 1 piece tower and casing.

This means that the whole gearbox and motor assemblies weight is shifted even further back and the suspension is shifted forward over the axle.

Maybe its time to start mounting the suspension off the gearbox - F1 stylee???

It's what is known as a 'fundamental design flaw' and until Losi figure it's a problem we'll all continue to wonder how to get the 22 to work when there's less grip.

The answer is to swap the arms left to right so they swing forward, this puts the motor in the right place. Then all it needs is a new gearbox and rear tower...and a new chassis with more flex and the batteries in the right place...

I have thought about a Tardis 22 conversion but this still doesn't address the real problem, I have a B4.1 so this will get turned into a C when/if it ever gets released.

Is it not because the design has been compromised to give both mid and rear motor cars from one kit??

On the plus side having the motor so far forward in the mid configuration it dose give you more control in the air than normal.
