lengthy absence

hey all names liam,

new to oople :) not to forums or r/c
i used to do alot of r/c car stuff about 5-6 years ago and loved it!!great past time since then mountain bikes paintball took over and diverted my attention...
the other day my little bro found all my old rc stuff and dug it out and afer a long absense ive started to drift back into it after him persistantly wanting me to get them running.

the last car i bought was a losi xxxs g+ (never drove it used it for uni projects)and before that i ownd a belt drive kyosho touring car.my god how things have leapt forward!when did Lipo's take off?!

im origionally from london but now live in dartford kent area, are there any off road or road clubs ins this region?

many thanks

Another Darford boy, snap ;)

I ran 2wd buggies and short course up Eden Park, not too bad a drive from here, only bout 20 minutes, fantastic track and all really nice helpfull peeps up there.

Also ran tam mini's up Maritime (also they do mardaves, pan cars, and touring car's) they meet every other tues or thursday pending what class you race, again great track and peeps up there. (and also an indoor track on it's way to cater for 2wd and 4wd ;))

i say dartford but im swanley but no many people know it haha!

just need to sort my self a buggy now!:S
also with the reading ive been doing Short coarse seems to be heavily featured...would you say get a 2/4 WD buggy or SCT?

If you take out membership at EPR you can use the track anytime, even during the week!

We also go to the track most Saturdays, largely to maintain the track but also to help and advise and to give the helpers some track time, more often than not with timing being available.

In terms of choice of chassis would suggest you come along to have a look and a chat, we run 2WD, 4WD, SCT and even some Stadium and Monster Trucks at club meetings!
The only stipulation being that they must be electric!

We often know of good and trusted new and second-hand kit that maybe available from club members and known drivers should you be interested in setting yourself up that way.

Hope to see you soon, if you just want to chat we may be trackside later this week prepping the track for the TLR Super Cup

TBH, your end up having all of the above after a few months - as is the addicition of RC - all of the above are good and by going through them all you'll find the ones you like the most.

I ended up with a 2wd buggy and 2wd short course which suited me fine :D

As Brookie says tho, pop up to EPR and see what the guy's are running and have a chat (they won't bite).

Once you see what others are running on the track you'll be racing on you'll have a better idea ;)

(when you get to the which esc and motor question, if you search the general rc thread you'll find the "what ooplers run" thread which has loads of info on electrics set ups in cars.......(10.5t) is mighty fine for a Noobs up EPR, slower is the new faster
